How to Start Your Classes Right!

*Icebreakers can be an important part of a first day of any class. Students especially need to feel comfortable as part of a group so they can open up and practice their English skills.

*Many instructors choose to use icebreaker games or activities not just on the first day of class, but as a warm-up for any daily lesson.

*Icebreakers help students to get to know each other and adjust to their new learning partners.

Example:

If you're teaching a reading skills class, have students start using reading skills from the first warm-ups. Writing classes can do written icebreaker games to be shared with the class.
